Impact printer creates characters on paper by impact. It could use a printhead, printband of some sort. A printer ribbon is used to transfer a character, via the printhead to the paper. The common type of printers would be Dot Matrix printer, Typewriter, Calculator, Point-Of Sale machines. See also non-impact printer.

acronym MICR stands for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. This
technology uses magnetically chargeable ink or toner to print the
numbers and special characters on the bottom of checks or other
financial transaction documents.

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer; a company like HP. When we refer to an OEM supply it would be a product manufactured by the manufacturer who also manufactured the printer. See also Aftermarket.
